When Peter preached before the crowd at Pentecost, he began with the “definite plan and foreknowledge of God” that sent the Lord Jesus Christ to the cross. But he could not end there! He told the crowd (and us) that death could not hold Him who was the Life (John 14:6) and that Jesus rose again, triumphantly, to take His place at the right hand of God. The Bible is full of declarations about the resurrection of Christ – both because it is the great event of hope and because we need to hear it in the hardest of times. We will not be shaken, and we will rejoice because our Savior is risen! What a blessing it is to know that “Death Could Not Hold Him” (Acts 2:22-36).
