At our 2024 Mission Conference, our speaker, Dr. Guy M. Richard, President and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta, will speak to us about the importance of prayer for missions (from the example of the Lord's Prayer), the surety of the success of missions, and the Lord's restoration of sinners to do the work of missions.
Prior to his arrival in Atlanta, Dr. Richard served as the Senior Minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, Mississippi (PCA) for almost 12 years. He had the privilege of leading this congregation in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which completely destroyed the church facility and the homes of approximately one-third of the congregation.
His research has thus far focused on the theology of the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Reformation and post-Reformation periods. He has published four books and many articles on these topics. He also blogs regularly at his website, guymrichard.com. In his free time, Dr. Richard enjoys swimming and cycling and most other sports. He and his wife Jennifer have three children. Jennifer will join him at our conference and will speak to our ladies at the Saturday luncheon.
SCHEDULE:
Friday Night Welcome Dinner and Opening Session
7:00 - 8:30 PM
On the initial evening of the conference, we will enjoy a pizza dinner and Dr. Richard will speak on "Prayer" from Luke 11:1-13.
Saturday Sessions
8:00 - 9:30 AM Men's Breakfast - with Dr. Guy Richard speaking on "Leadership that Influences the World" from Acts 20:17-38.
12:00 - 1:30 PM Ladies' Luncheon - with Jennifer Richard.
Sunday Sessions
8:30 & 11:00 AM Morning Worship with Dr. Richard preaching, "God's Glory WILL Fill the Earth" (Habakkuk 2:14).
9:50 AM Combined Sunday School with information about our currently supported missionaries and this year's summer mission trip.
6:00 PM Evening Worship with Dr. Richard preaching, "The Restoration that Sends us Out" (John 21:1-19).
7:15 PM Fellowship Meal - Foods from Around the World
