Our Pastors
Senior Pastor - Fred Greco
Fred grew up in the Buffalo, NY area, along with his wife, Deb. Fred studied Classics and History at the University of Buffalo, and then moved on to graduate studies, earning an M.A. in Classics at the University of Chicago. He then moved to Ann Arbor, MI, where he entered the University of Michigan Law School (Go Blue!) and earned a J.D. Upon Fred's graduation from law school, Fred and Deb were married and moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area, and Fred practiced as a corporate attorney specializing in commercial finance and real estate law. All four of Fred and Deb’s children, Peter, Daniel, Paul, and Abigail were born in NE Ohio.
While they were in Ohio, the Grecos were members of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Hudson, Ohio. Fred was ordained as a ruling elder and was blessed to have opportunities to minister, teach, and occasionally preach. Deb was active in women's ministry and missions, two of her passions. In 2003, the Grecos moved far south so that Fred could enroll in seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2006, Fred accepted a call to be the Senior Pastor of Christ Church, and much to the whole family's delight, they all became Texans! In the years that the Grecos have been at Christ Church, the Lord has blessed them with a faithful and loving congregation, a useful facility, and growing outreach to the community. The Greco family has expanded to now include two daughters-in-law: Daniel's wife, Kameron and Paul's wife, Avery, and their first grandchild, Lillian Eve Greco!
Fred has a passion for preaching God's Word, shepherding God's flock, and the Church. He has served in the denomination (PCA) and his Presbytery (Houston Metro) in many different capacities, chairing various committees and serving on the Standing Judicial Commission of the PCA. Fred was elected as the Moderator of the 50th PCA General Assembly in Memphis (2023). He has authored articles for Tabletalk Magazine and various web publications, including the Gospel Reformation Network, and has traveled for mission work to Africa, Asia, and Mexico. He teaches practical theology classes at RTS Houston as well. He also loves languages, baseball (both watching and coaching), Michigan football and basketball, computers and all kinds of gadgets, reading, and vacationing with his family. You may reach out to Fred on his Facebook page or Twitter account.

Assistant Pastor - Duncan Rankin
Duncan was raised in South Carolina and married his high school sweetheart, Shirley. An engineering graduate of Clemson University, he worked at Savannah River Laboratory until heading off with his bride to Boston for PhD studies at MIT. The Lord redirected Duncan’s steps towards the Gospel ministry, so he completed his MDiv degree at Reformed Theological Seminary and PhD in Systematic Theology at New College of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
Duncan is a returning staff member to Christ Church, who has also served churches in Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia. While he has taught at RTS, BRITE, and Erskine seminaries, his heart has always been for the local church. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America.
The Rankins are delighted to be back in Texas! Christ Church is full of dear saints and friends, who are a constant source of spiritual encouragement, joy, and hope. Locally, Duncan also teaches courses in Christian theology at RTS-Houston. Duncan and Shirley have three grown children who are all above average, and they are always eager to talk about their grandchildren. Confirmed Bogleheads and members of Escapees, these happy grandparents dream about retiring to a Class B motorhome to see Texas and beyond.
