Glory to God!

Topic: AM Service Passage: Romans 16:25–27
For the last 20 months, we have looked at Paul’s masterful exposition of “The Gospel of God’s Grace” in the book of Romans. Paul started the letter by reminding us that he had been set apart as an apostle for the gospel of God, and now he ends on the same note – pointing us to the Lord who strengthens His people according to the gospel. That is what the gospel should do. It should cause us to praise and honor the Lord who has saved us. Our deliverance from condemnation, the blessings we receive in salvation, all are secondary to the great purpose of the gospel: the glory of God. That is why Paul ends his great epistle with a doxology. He praises the Lord for who He is and what He has done. Paul calls us to join him in giving “Glory to God!” (Romans 16:15-27).
I. Glory to the Powerful God
A. Strengthening Through the Gospel
B. Commanding Faith
II. Glory to the Wise God
A. Wisdom of the Gospel
B. Wisdom for Life
III. Glory to God Through Christ
A. Jesus is Our Mediator
B. God Only Worthy of Glory
Questions for consideration: (1) In what ways have you experienced the strengthening power of God in the gospel? (2) How does the wisdom of God help you to share the gospel with others?
(3) How do you take opportunities in your daily life to glorify God?
