One of the great promises that Christ’s people have from Him is that our “sorrow will turn to joy.” So much of life is hard and painful. We live in a world cursed by sin, and we see sickness, disaster, and death all around us. That is why it is so important that we remember that Jesus has come to overcome the trouble of the world and to bring peace and joy. Jesus gives us the powerful image of a woman in childbirth whose anguish is blotted out by the joy of seeing her child. We must look to the Savior in our troubles to see “Sorrow Turned to Joy” (John 16:16-22)
