Sometimes, we can try to explain our salvation in terms that leave out our relationship with Jesus. That is a grave mistake. Jesus has given to us the great and powerful cause of our salvation – His love for us. He tells us that it is His love that sets into motion the work of redemption. It is His love that causes Him to tell us the will of God. And it is His love that we are to emulate. Over and over again, Jesus tells us that we are to love each other as He has loved us. This is a powerful incentive and a great reminder that we are helpless without the mighty work of God in us. We are called to such a “Great Love” (John 15:12-17).
