How can we tell if someone’s conversion to Christ is true and lasting or simply a passing whim? Jesus gives us insight into this with another one of His “I Am” statements: He says, “I Am the true vine…Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” There is a great deal for us to understand in that statement. Jesus is the true source of life and holiness; when we abide in Christ, we will bear much fruit; and we are unable to do anything without Christ. Jesus is calling us today to abide in Him and encourages us that when we do, the result will be great joy and love. It is good for us to believe Jesus when He tells us, “I Am the True Vine” (John 15:1-11)
