I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 14:1–16
What did Jesus really claim about Himself? Many people are willing to admit that Jesus was a good teacher, a kind man, someone to emulate. But Jesus never described Himself in that way. If we look to the Scriptures, we see Jesus calling us to “believe in Him” because He is “one with the Father” and is “the resurrection and the life.” We do not have to dig deeply to see that Jesus’ claims are extraordinary. This is especially true as Jesus spoke to His disciples in the upper room before His betrayal, death, and burial. After reminding us that we do not need to be troubled because He has prepared a place with Him for those who believe in Him, He makes this remarkable statement: “I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” (John 14:1-6)
