Jesus is preparing for His final week of ministry, which will culminate in His going to the cross and His resurrection. But before that, Jesus will enter Jerusalem as “The Coming King.” (John 12:9-19) He shows us that He is in complete control of the situation, regardless of Pharisee and Sadducee plots, regardless of a lack of understanding by the Jews. Jesus fulfilled prophecy and showed that He was the King of Israel. At the time, even His disciples did not understand what was happening, but afterward, they knew – even as we know now. May it be more and more true today what the Pharisees said, “Look, the world has gone after Him.”
