The Savior Who Weeps and Defeats Death
July 2, 2023 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: John
Topic: AM Service Passage: John 11:28–44
The Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. In Jesus, God came down and dwelt among humanity. An important reason for this was so that we would know what God is like. Jesus is the “image of the invisible God” (Col. 1:15) and through His life, we can see God's character and actions so clearly. When Jesus came to Bethany after Lazarus’ death, He comforted Martha and Mary, but most importantly, He wept with them. And He was “deeply moved” or indignant at the existence of sin and its fruit, death. He knew that this was not what the world was created to be. He knew that He was on a mission to do away with sin and death. And so He showed us “The Savior Who Weeps and Defeats Death.” (John 11:28-44)
