God's Word Cannot Be Broken

June 4, 2023 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: John

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 10:30–42

Two of the most important teachings of the Christian faith are the doctrine of God and the doctrine of Scripture. They are not the only important teachings, but they are essential. We have to understand who God is in order to know our need for salvation and the provision God has given for our salvation. It is foundational to believe that God is one God who exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In fact, we can see that a central theme of John’s Gospel is to show that Jesus is God. In one of His last confrontations with the Pharisees before Passion Week, Jesus makes this clear: “I and the Father are one.” There is no mistaking it – the Pharisees respond by picking up stones to kill Him for saying that. Jesus also shows us the importance and truth of the inerrant and infallible nature of the Bible. It is not just the ideas of the Bible that are inspired, but the very words – each and every one of them. Jesus emphasizes one word from one verse of the Bible as authoritative. Let us always remember that “God’s Word Cannot Be Broken” (John 10:30-42).
