Caught But Not Condemned

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 7:53– 8:11
One of the most important things for us to recognize about the Lord Jesus Christ is that in Him, mercy and justice meet perfectly. It is through Jesus’ work that God can be “just and the justifier of the ungodly.” In John 8, we see a picture of this. The Pharisees, having failed to arrest Jesus, manufacture a plot to put Him on the horns of a dilemma. In order to attack Jesus, they are willing to destroy a woman as well. But Jesus knows their intentions and their hearts, and He confronts them with their own guilt in the scheme. And Jesus reminds us that by His grace, sinners are “Caught but not Condemned” (John 7:53-8:11).
