The Son of Man Lifted Up

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 3:9–15
As Jesus spoke with Nicodemus, it became clear that Nicodemus only thought he knew about God and himself. In reality, even though he was “the teacher of Israel,” Nicodemus’ knowledge of the Bible and his own heart were insufficient. Insufficient, not because he failed to memorize facts but because he subordinated his knowledge to the assumption that he was right with God on account of who he was. We can fall for that faulty line of thinking – believing that we are better than most people (even if imperfect). What Jesus tells Nicodemus and us is that without the new birth, we are hopelessly lost. He tells us to look to Him. Will you look in faith now to Jesus, Savior of sinners and “The Son of Man Lifted Up” (John 3:9-15)?
