Coming to Bring Grace and Truth

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 1:14–18
In this first chapter of his gospel, the Apostle John introduces us to the eternal Son of God, the one who was God, was with God, and who came into the world. The Son of God came and took on flesh, that is, He became a man. In doing so, He did not cease to be God but took on human nature so that He would be the Savior of men. John told us that Jesus came to bring life and light and to claim for Himself children. Now he tells us that the God-man was “Coming to Bring Grace and Truth” (John 1:14-18). This is the remarkable miracle of the gospel, that the One who made all things entered the world and dwelt among us and that He did that to bring grace and truth. We no longer need to wonder what God is like – we can see Him in the Person and work of Jesus.
