Do you wonder what to do when the storms of life approach? At times, a storm will roll in with no warning at all – like the hurricane that swept through Galveston in 1900. At other times, even though we have a warning, we are still left with a sense of hopelessness and fear in the face of the buffeting winds. When the storm hits, it brings more than danger. It brings confusion and doubt. The only way that we can survive the storms of life is to know that rain or shine, raging wind or calm, the Lord never lets go of His children. When we trust in the Lord, we know we are in the safest place we can be. Luke records a wonderful picture of this as Jesus rests secure in His knowledge of His Father’s care, come what may. But Jesus is more than the perfect man who trusts the Father; He is also truly God, the One who can calm the storm with a mere word. He is “The Master of the Storm” (Luke 8:22-25).
