O Magnify the Lord with Me!

December 8, 2013 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: Luke

Topic: AM Service Passage: Luke 1:39–1:56

Do you take the opportunity each day to think about all the ways in which the Lord provide for you? Even in the most difficult circumstances, are you steadied by the knowledge that the Lord knows you? One of the most challenging aspects to facing problems is our tendency to be overwhelmed. When times are hard, we do not look beyond ourselves and our problems, and as a result we can feel that all hope is gone. It is precisely at those times, however, that we must resist the temptation to focus inward, and we must look to our great God and Savior for hope. There is no better medicine for our souls than to join with Mary in recounting the greatness of the true and living God.

I. Joy in the Lord
A. In Unexpected Ways
B. In Knowing Jesus
C. In Believing God

II. Praise for the Lord
A. Our Savior
B. Our Sustainer
C. Our Sovereign

Questions for consideration: (1) What is happening in your life right now that threatens to rob your joy? How does this passage help you with that? (2) Why is it important for us to know the “real Mary”? Why is it important for us not to dismiss the “real Mary”? (3) Can you recount the past acts of God in history? How does that affect the way you see life now?
