Strength in Weakness

Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 11:16–33
In what can or should a Christian boast? This was a question that the Apostle Paul faced when defending the gospel and his ministry in Corinth. False apostles had come to that church and undermined Paul’s ministry. Paul was in a dilemma: should he stay silent and allow the attacks to succeed, or should he speak up and remind the Corinthians of how the Lord had used him mightily? Paul chose to stand up to the attacks, but he spoke in an unusual way. He would be “foolish” and “talk like a madman,” boasting “just a little.” But he would boast in his weakness because that would show the power of the Lord. This is not something that we naturally think will be effective. We tend to display the power, authority, and ability we have. But Paul reminds us that the way of the gospel is to boast about “Strength in Weakness” (2 Corinthians 11:16-32).
