Encouragement to Generosity

Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 8:1–6
Money is one of the most controversial subjects. When directives are given about money, we tend to bristle and get defensive. But that does not mean that we should ignore what the Lord has to say in His Word about our resources and how we should use them. The Apostle Paul wrote forthrightly and openly to the Corinthians about the blessings of generosity. He did not try to manipulate them and did not scold them. But he gave them the example of how the grace of God had so affected their brothers in Macedonia that they overflowed with generosity despite their own poverty. We who live in such wealth need to hear Paul’s “Encouragement to Generosity” (2 Corinthians 8:1-6).
