The Light of the Gospel
July 19, 2020 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: 2 Corinthians
Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:1–6
How does the gospel go forward and take root in the lives of people? How are those who do not believe in Christ brought to faith? And why is it that some do not believe when they hear the gospel? It can be discouraging when we share the truth of salvation in Christ, and the response is, “that’s not for me.” How do we preserve and not lose heart? Paul tells us that the light of the gospel is the work of God, not man. Because of that, we do not use tricks or deception to try and “make people believe.” We must trust that God is at work. We must also understand that we have an enemy at work who hates the gospel. The devil never ceases in his opposition to the kingdom of God. But God who is for us is greater than the devil who is against us. The Lord causes “The Light of the Gospel” to shine and give the knowledge of Christ to sinners. (2 Corinthians 4:1-6).
I. An Honest Ministry

III. A Hopeful Proclamation

Questions for consideration: (1) Why is it important for Christians not to lose heart? What are some things or circumstances that can cause you to lose heart? (2) What does it mean for us to know that the enemy is blinding the minds of unbelievers? (3) If we truly proclaim Jesus and not ourselves, how will that change the way we minister?
