One of the most obvious things about the changing culture of our world is an increased abandonment of purity in favor of all kinds of sexual immorality. The apostle Paul speaks to this in 1 Corinthians, but not in a way we might expect. Instead of railing against the sinner "out there," Paul warns the Church that we have a duty to follow God's Law, and show the work of God's grace in our lives - by the change and difference the work of Christ has made.

Questions for consideration: (1) Why is it important for the progress of the gospel for you to live a life of purity? (2) In what ways are you challenged to live a purer life? Is any of those ways “acceptable” in the sight of society? The modern Church? Your own companions? (3) How can a greater knowledge of God’s grace and salvation help you in your struggles with purity?
