Update on COVID-19 for April 4, 2020
1In these times of social distancing and not gathering, I want to continue to remain in "contact" with you, the congregation of Christ Church. I do not know how long our efforts to "Slow the Spread" will continue, but it appears that we will have live stream only worship at least through the month of April. That is a challenge for a pastor because this Sunday marks the start of a season in which we focus on the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We will do our best to m maintain that focus, especially in these trying times. Tomorrow we will open our Bibles to Matthew 21 and look at "The King's Triumphal Entry" for Palm Sunday. Then Friday at 7:00 PM we will have our first Good Friday evening service, to give us an opportunity to meditate upon our Lord's sacrifice for sinners. On Easter Sunday we will turn to Paul's victorious message of "Life from Death" from 1 Corinthians 15:35-49.
I also want to make you aware of a resource that is being used by the federal and state governments to track the COVID-19 crisis. This website allows you to see historical data and projections for the United States as a whole and individually for each State.
Finally, I have recorded a video for you, including updates and also some thoughts of Psalm 23. The Lord is indeed our Shepherd, and we need Him every day!
