The Righteous Shall Live by Faith

Topic: PM Service Passage: Galatians 3:10–14
Earlier in Galatians 3, Paul has firmly established that the true children of Abraham are those that have the faith of faithful Abraham. Paul said in verse 6 (quoting Genesis 15), “Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” Abraham’s trust was not in his own obedience but in the promises of God given to him. Paul now continues his argument from more OT passages where he contrasts the blessing of faith with the futility of trying to obey the law. Paul shows us that there is no salvation through adherence to the law because it is impossible to fully keep the law. Therefore, we need one who has kept the law. The blessing for believers is that the one who fully kept the law is also the one who was willing to bear the curse of sin on our behalf!
