Our 2020 Missions Conference focused on the theme "God's Mission and Ours," which emphasizes that God’s mission is the spread of His glory and fame throughout all the world and we are the messengers of that proclamation. Psalm 96:3-4:
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.
At our 2020 Mission Conference, our speaker, Rev. Nate Bonham, helped us understand from God’s Word how we fit into God’s mission. The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, and the chief end of mission is to glorify God as well. God is glorified when He draws lost sinners to Himself and when His glory is manifested in the lives of His children. At this year’s conference, we will have the opportunity to be challenged to grow in our understanding of what this looks like in our lives. God has a work for each of us as we seek to bring Him glory and spread the good news of the gospel to others.
Nate Bonham and his wife Nikki have been missionaries for eight years in South America. Their desire for foreign missions began soon after they married in 2004. After several years working in secular vocations, Nate received his M.Div. and Nikki received her M.A. in Christian Education from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. Nate is an ordained Teaching Elder (pastor) in the Presbyterian Church in America.
The Bonham family arrived in Latin America in 2012, after serving in a church plant in Mississippi for almost seven years. In October of 2019, they transitioned their ministry out of Arequipa, Peru, and the next chapter of their missions journey is taking them to Medellin, Colombia in 2020. Nate and Nikki are blessed to have 3 boys that keep life fun. Luis is 10 years old, and their twins, Noah and Barrett, are 9 years old.
