The Lord’s Favor (Isaiah 61:1-11)

Passage: Isaiah 61:1–11
When we think about the good news of the gospel, we should never forget that the good news is more than a “what.” It is a “who.” The good news is that the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to earth and became man. He did so in order that he would become the Lord's anointed. “Christ” is the Greek translation of “Messiah,” which means “Anointed One.” Jesus has ushered in a new era of redemption, forgiveness, and freedom. In chapter 61, Isaiah prophesies about this as the year of the Lord's favor. He calls upon us to believe the message of the Messiah and to rejoice in it. Come into the presence of the Savior and see “The Lord’s Favor” (Isaiah 61:1-11)
