The Lord’s Solution for Evil (Isaiah 59:1-21)

Passage: Isaiah 59:1–21
In the story of redemption, the good news always begins with bad news. Before we can hear the good news of the gospel of grace, we must understand the bad news of how destructive our sin is and how helpless we are because of it. In chapter 59, Isaiah paints a picture of how sin separates man from God and what is necessary for man to receive salvation from God. For us to receive salvation, we must first realize how helpless we are because our sin has offended a holy God. Once we realize that, we will cry out to God in repentance. God hears our cry and he sends the Warrior Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ, to work salvation for us. This is “The Lord's Solution for Evil.” (Isaiah 59:1-21).
