Topic: AM Service Passage: Isaiah 36:1– 37:38
In chapters 36 and 37, Isaiah turns to an account of the Assyrian invasion of Judah. After trying everything else, except for simple trust in the Lord, Hezekiah and God’s people are left alone and helpless. False alliances and bribery attempts could not save them, but when the Assyrians come breathing blasphemies against the Lord God, Hezekiah seeks Isaiah’s help and goes before the Lord in prayer. There, he finds the hope that was always available, if he (and we!) had only just acknowledged that “The Lord Will Deliver” (Isaiah 36:1-37:38)
