Topic: AM Service Passage: Isaiah 23:1–18
One of the greatest challenges to man’s relationship with God is man’s belief in himself, that is, pride. When we think we have all the answers, we refuse to look at ourselves and our lives with objectivity. This has been true for all of history. Isaiah gives us another example of this in the nation of Tyre. Unlike Babylon, which sought to rule the world through military power and might, Tyre sought control through corruption and financial power. But the Lord will not allow anyone to steal His glory. So, through the prophet, once again, He declares “The End of Pride” (Isaiah 23:1-18)
