Topic: AM Service Passage: Isaiah 13:1– 14:32
Sometimes it is hard to see that the Lord is sovereign over all things. This is especially true when we see evil in the world. We tend to think that an all-powerful, all-good God must make all things right as soon as possible. But the Bible teaches us that God’s ways are not our ways. The Lord has a great purpose in what He does, and that can make us impatient. But we should not mistake the Lord’s timing for a lack of care or a lack of principle. Isaiah was sent with that message. The nations of the world acted in wickedness, greed, and vanity. But God used them as His instrument of justice and discipline for His people. And now Isaiah tells us that there is “Judgment on Babylon” (Isaiah 13:1-14:32).
