The Righteous Branch (Isaiah 11:1-16)

Topic: AM Service Passage: Isaiah 11:1–16
In hard times we need to lean on the promises of God. In Isaiah’s day, that was certainly true of God’s people. Isaiah had prophesied a coming catastrophe – the judgment of the Lord was on its way as the result of Judah and Israel abandoning the Lord and seeking the ways of the world. But there would come a day, says Isaiah, when the Messiah would come from the “stump of Jesse” and establish His kingdom. That day would be a glorious day, when “the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.” We can look forward to that day, as we await the consummation of the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to Jesus, “The Righteous Branch” (Isaiah 11:1-16).
