Topic: AM Service Passage: Isaiah 9:8– 10:4
One of the most terrifying things the Bible teaches us is that sinners ignore the warnings that a gracious God gives to them. Before Isaiah’s day, the Lord had sent prophets to Israel, warning them to repent and turn from their wicked ways. Not only did they disregard the Word of the Lord, they became stubborn in their arrogance and pride. The Bible records this for us not as a history lesson but because we are subject to the same erroneous way of thinking. Isaiah’s prophetic word was not just for the 8th century B.C., it is for today! The Lord is calling on us to humble ourselves and to see the truth that “God Hates Oppression” (Isaiah 9:8-10:4).
