Topic: AM Service Passage: Isaiah 1:21–31
What do we do when we realize we are lost and need help? When we look at our past and recognize that we are guilty and need restoration? We saw in the opening verses of Isaiah that Judah needed to be confronted with their sin and its effects. But that cannot be the end of the story – unresolved sin is a formula for despair and hopelessness. So the prophet brings a word of restoration to Judah (and us). He describes her faithlessness and then makes a remarkable declaration: “I will restore!” This is the gospel in a nutshell: we are worse than we think, and God will deliver us according to His grace, not our worth. Isaiah’s message is that “The Lord Will Restore” (Isaiah 1:21-31)
I. Sin Destroys Humanity
II. The Lord's Restoration
III. The Lord's Warning
