The Death of the Savior
September 15, 2024 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: John
Topic: AM Service Passage: John 1:1
The unimaginable is placed before our eyes. He who is life itself breathes out His last and dies upon a cross. The death of the Lord Jesus Christ is more than an injustice, more than a tragedy. It is proof of the great love of God, who spared no expense to redeem sinners. God became man in Jesus Christ so that salvation could be accomplished. On the cross, we see this come together in two of Jesus’ statements: “I thirst” (showing His humanity) and “It is finished” (showing His divine bearing of wrath for sin). We gaze with wonder and awe at “The Death of the Savior” (John 19:28-37)
