The Crucifixion of Jesus
September 1, 2024 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: John
Topic: AM Service Passage: John 19:12–27
The darkest day has arrived. After all the unjust accusations, mockery, and abuse, Jesus begins the walk to Calvary, Golgotha, the Place of the Skull. The very purpose for which Christ came, the profound sacrifice of His life for our sins, is about to be fulfilled. Pilate gives into the demands of the Jewish leaders and delivers Jesus over to be crucified. The beaten and wounded Savior carries His cross as far as He physically can. He is nailed onto the cross and lifted up into the air. John records more than just the events – he shows how, at every turn, the Scripture is fulfilled and the sovereignty of God is manifested. We are brought to “The Crucifixion of Jesus” (John 19:12-27).
