The hour has come. The hour that our Lord Jesus Christ has focused upon and spoken to His disciples about has arrived. Jesus and the disciples have come to the garden of Gethsemane, where Judas will lead the chief priests, Pharisees, and soldiers to arrest Jesus. This is the beginning of the passion of Christ. In this arrest scene, John shows us that Jesus is completely in control. His enemies don’t need to search for Him; He is waiting for them, knowing what will happen. And even in this dark hour, Jesus shows that He protects His own and is merciful to His enemies. This is “The Arrest of Jesus” (John 18:1-11)
