High Priestly Prayer: Christ’s Unity
July 14, 2024 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: John
Topic: AM Service Passage: John 17:20–23
In His prayer, Jesus has prayed for His own glory, His people's holiness, and His Church's mission. Now, Jesus prays for the unity of His people so that the world will believe that the Father has sent the Son. In this, Jesus is praying not just for the disciples around Him but for all who will believe in the future as the gospel goes forward. This unity is more than an artificial organizational unity – it is unity founded on the truth of God’s Word. This unity has two significant consequences: the world will know Jesus, and the Church will experience the love of the Father. We can obtain these blessings in our day, knowing Jesus’ “High Priestly Prayer: Christ’s Unity” (John 14:20-23).
I. Unity in the Truth
II. Unity in Christ
III. Unity in Blessing
