High Priestly Prayer: Christ’s Glory

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 17:1–3
After the conclusion of His final discourse with the disciples, Jesus begins His magnificent High Priestly Prayer. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught His disciples to pray, but here in John 17, we truly have “The Lord’s Prayer.” Our Lord opens His prayer by asking His Father to glorify Him so that the Father would be glorified. And we learn that the true purpose of the salvation of sinners is the glory of God. It is an excellent reminder that we are to take our eyes off of ourselves and fix them on the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ. What a blessing it is to hear the “High Priestly Prayer: Christ’s Glory” (John 17:1-5).
