The Blind Receive Their Sight

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 9:1–12
Have you ever been aware that you can’t see? Maybe you have been in a very dark place with no light, and you could not even see your hand in front of your face. Or maybe you found out you needed corrective lenses when you could not read a sign in front of you. Not being able to see is very frustrating and can be dangerous. But when blindness is spiritual rather than physical, the danger is more acute. In John 9, Jesus performs His sixth sign to indicate His deity, and He highlights our need for His power to give us spiritual eyes. The contrast between the blind man who can now see with the spiritually blind Pharisees is jarring as we see “The Blind Receive Their Sight” (John 9:1-12).
