The Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, God Himself. John keeps showing over and over that Jesus has the power, character, and compassion of God and that He is the fulfillment of the types and shadows of the Old Testament. In the only miracle recorded in all four gospels – the feeding of the 5000 – Jesus demonstrates that He is the one who supplies all the needs of His people. Jesus tested His disciples to trust in Him even when they knew they were incapable. We must have that same trust in the Savior. It gives us the confidence we need when we see Jesus “Feeding the Five Thousand” (John 6:1-15).
