Witnesses to Christ
Topic: AM Service Passage: John 5:31–38
When there is a dispute among parties that requires formal judgment, each party brings witnesses to testify to facts to support their case. When the Jewish leaders challenged the claim of Christ that He was God Himself and equal to the Father, Christ then provided witnesses to establish the truth. He reminded the leaders that John the Baptist had testified to Him, and they had, in fact, accepted the Baptist as a true prophet. Jesus then reminded them that He had done miraculous works that proved His Deity. And finally, He concluded by saying that the Father testified to the Son’s Deity. We would do well to listen to the “Witnesses to Christ” (John 5:31-38).
