When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He began by telling her of the living water that only He could give. After she expressed a desire for that water so she would “never be thirsty again,” Jesus continued the discussion with important statements about worship. John 4:16-26 contains perhaps the lengthiest statement from our Lord about worship. Jesus gave the woman (and us!) several elements of worship. He said that the Father is the One who is seeking worshippers; that worship must be in spirit; and that worship must be in truth. There is nothing more important than that we understand “True Worship.”
