You Must Be Born Again

Topic: AM Service Passage: John 2:23– 3:8
At the heart of the Biblical message is the truth that all people are sinners in need of a Savior. But often this message is not received because people either see themselves as basically good and not in need, or they believe that it is sufficient to acknowledge that Jesus is a helpful teacher. John describes such a situation for us in one of the most famous passages in his gospel. Nicodemus, a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews, comes to Jesus by night and complements Him. But Nicodemus’ approach is fundamentally that of an equal to Jesus. Nicodemus does not know that radical change is required to see the Kingdom of God. Jesus teaches him, and us, that the new birth from above is necessary to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus teaches us that “You Must Be Born Again” (John 2:23-3:8)
I. Need for New Birth
II. Necessity of New Birth
III. Source of New Birth
