Will You Follow Jesus?
Topic: AM Service Passage: John 1:35–1:42
In the first week of Jesus’ public ministry – after His baptism and temptation – the Apostle John introduces us to John the Baptist, who in turn introduces us to Jesus, the “Lamb of God.” Now on the next day (the third day of the week), John the Baptist sees Jesus and declares again, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” This time, two of John’s disciples hear and begin to follow Jesus. We already know that this is what John wanted because he has told us (John 1:30). These two disciples spend time with Jesus, and the result is that Andrew calls his brother Peter also to follow Jesus. This is a wonderful picture of how evangelism works: we follow Jesus and call others to follow Him. The first question we must face is “Will You Follow Jesus?” (John 1:35-42)
