In this section of chapter 5, Paul reminds the Galatians of the freedom that is theirs in Christ- it is not given as a covering for licentiousness, it is not a license to sin! NO! Rather, it is a freedom to love others in a Christ-like way. However, before Paul gives this teaching on freedom in Christ, he gives one more warning to the Galatians. And it comes in a series of short remarks, rhetorical questions, warnings and even sarcasm.
I. Frustration with False Teachers
A. They hindered the Galatians from obeying the truth
B. Their message is not from God
C. Their false teaching spreads dangerously
D. They will face God’s judgment
E. They misrepresent Paul
F. Paul’s sarcastic utterance against them
G. They will ultimately fail in misleading true believers
II. Freedom for True Believers
A. Freedom defined (biblically)
B. Not an opportunity to sin
C. True freedom = Love
D. A sober warning
