Seeing the Unseen

Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Kings 6:8–23
It is easy to live our lives as if God is nowhere to be found. We do this because the Lord is not visible (it seems) in the places we choose to look, and He does not act in the ways that we want Him to act. The believer who doubts God’s sovereignty and does not seek Him in prayer lives as a practical atheist. We think that we and our abilities are our only hope. And so we over-estimate what we can do by legislation, cultural influence, and power. But the truth is that the Lord is always in complete control. He never sleeps nor slumbers; He is never caught by surprise; and He cannot be overpowered! This is so important for us to remember, especially in turbulent times. When we fix our eyes on the world and its power, we fail to see our great and sovereign God. When we seek a better kingdom, that means “Seeing the Unseen” (2 Kings 6:8-23).
