Thorns and Visions

Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 12:1–10
There is perhaps no greater sin that can beset the Christian than pride. Pride can be seen as the prototypical or first sin, whether it is Satan’s pride that set him against God or Adam’s pride that caused him to want to be like God. Even the Apostle Paul was not immune to pride. He realized that the extraordinary blessings that God had given to him had actually caused him to become conceited and proud. But God, in His mercy, would not allow Paul to be consumed by pride. The Lord humbled Paul so that Paul could delight in God’s mercy and his own humility. One of the greatest statements in all of Scripture is, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” We will grow in grace when we see Paul’s “Thorns and Visions” and see that we are blessed when the Lord saves us from ourselves.
