Faithful Generosity

Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 9:1–5
It is important to desire to do the right thing. This is especially true when we are seeking to follow the Lord’s leading and His Word. But our readiness to act is only part of the matter. Readiness without follow-through has little or no value. It is when we carry out our plans that real change comes about. Paul understood this principle and sought to have the Corinthians see it as well. He was encouraged by the Corinthians’ eagerness to help their fellow believers in Judea. Still, he knew that if they were not faithful in achieving their giving project, it would be worse than if they had never expressed their willingness to give. We can learn from Paul’s instructions to the Corinthians about the importance of “Faithfulness in Generosity” (2 Corinthians 9:1-5).
