Comfort from Repentance

Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 7:5–12
One of the hardest things for a Christian to realize is that repentance is essential to the Christian life. We would like to think that we are beyond repentance – because it can be embarrassing or because it admits our weakness. But repentance is how the Lord brings us to an end of ourselves and points us to Him. Grief over sin leads to salvation, as we forsake our sin and flee to Jesus. Paul reminds us that we should be grateful when others encourage us to repent because they have our best interest in mind. Both we and others around us get “Comfort from Repentance” (2 Corinthians 7:5-12).
