The Favorable Time
Topic: AM Service Passage: 2 Corinthians 6:1–6:2
Ironically, one of the effects of being a part of a stable congregation is that the critical need for evangelism can be forgotten. We just assume everyone around us (including ourselves!) is saved because “saved people go to church.” We can focus so much on building up the saints (a necessary duty) that we neglect to be consciously evangelistic in our ministries. The Apostle Paul never overlooked the need to tell others the gospel. With great fervency, he appealed to men and women, boys and girls, to answer God’s call of salvation. The is no waiting – today is the day of salvation. Right now is “The Favorable Time” (2 Corinthians 6:1-2).
I. The Danger of Ignoring God’s Grace
II. The Testimony of God’s Grace
III. The Need for God’s Grace
Questions for consideration: (1) How can we receive God’s grace in vain? What can we do to stay focused on God’s grace? (2) Why is it important for you to know about what God has done for others in the past? (3) What things in your life make you think you can wait to consider God’s grace?
