The Messiah King
January 5, 2020 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: The Coming Messiah
Topic: AM Service Passage: Psalm 24:1–10
This Advent season, we have been looking at Jesus Christ as the Coming Messiah. Jesus is the one who was promised by God, prophesied centuries before His birth, and announced by angels when the Virgin Mary gave birth. But we dare not forget that Jesus only began the work He came for at His birth. The baby in the manger is the King of all. In Psalm 24, we get a glimpse of the Messiah as King – sovereign of all creation and all people. This King is a delivering King, born to redeem for Himself a people. And this King is the great and glorious God. There is no one like King Jesus. We conclude our series on The Coming Messiah with “The Messiah King” (Psalm 24).

Questions for consideration: (1) Why is it important for us to think about Jesus as our Sovereign King in the Christmas season? (2) What is the danger in trying to reduce the standard God requires? (3) How does knowing the glory of King Jesus affect the way that we tell others about Him?
