Christ Declared by the Resurrection

April 1, 2018 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: Romans

Topic: AM Service Passage: Romans 1:3–4

In the resurrection, we celebrate the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ over sin and death. It also provides an opportunity for us to declare the gospel message of repentance and forgiveness to a world that is desperately in need of hope. It about the grace of God, who sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to redeem a people from their sin. It is about the declaration of the proof that Jesus is Lord and He has paid the debt of sin – no more is needed! Perhaps the most central passage with that truth is Romans 1:3-4, where we see "Christ Declared by the Resurrection."

I. Christ Declared to be Man
A. The Fulfillment of Promise
B. The Sacrifice for Sin

II. Christ Declared to be God
A. The Divine Savior
B. The Son of God with Power

III. Christ Declared to be Lord
A. Public Declaration
B. Important Implication

Questions for consideration: (1) What does Jesus taking on human nature tell you about God? Why is that important? (2) The death and resurrection of Christ clearly are related to His humanity. But what does the resurrection say about His deity? Why is that important for you today? (3) What is most difficult in your life to submit to Jesus’ lordship? Why do we need to see Jesus as Lord?
